This is a charming little hotel right in the middle of London, about 2 minutes' walk from Covent Garden (both the place and the tube station) and less than a minute from the Royal Opera House, which was the reason for our stay. It's a townhouse that has been converted into a hotel, so no lift (no good if you can't manage stairs). Our room was number 25, on the 2nd floor so quite a few stairs. It was pleasant and well put together. A king size double bed, very comfortable (though the pillows were a bit cardboardy). Then our bathroom was down a short flight of steps in our room, with an excellent desk / work area just outside the bathroom. If you needed to spend the day working, this space was brilliant - lots of plugs, good light, good sized desk, private. The bathroom was well-appointed and all good. So many hotels have the bathroom door so close to the bedroom that it becomes a not very private experience, but in contrast this was great! Best of all was the cost. To get somewhere decent in this location, for the price we paid (£165 midweek in January) was brilliant. Is it full luxury? No. But it's much nicer than a Premier Inn type place, more character and absolutely superbly located. Coming out the opera at 10pm and being in our room by 10.01pm was fantastic!

We had a great time staying in this hotel. We stayed in “Flat 1”, which is a ground floor one bedroom apartment with a kitchen, dining, and two sleep couches in the living area. There are plenty of towels, bedding, and some tea/coffee in the well-equipped kitchen with a water boiler. Equipment we didn’t use: washer/dryer, ironing board, stove, oven, toaster, dish washer and microwave. The location is a dream, in a fairly quiet pedestrian side street opposite the Royal Opera House. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. For those sensitive to noise, the bedroom window faces the street (no cars etc., but some walking and loud talking). It didn’t stop me from sleeping quite well though. The wooden floors do creak a bit, so one can hear when people walk around upstairs. Also, perhaps not ideal for sharing this with apartment with non-family, the shower is a part of the main bedroom, with a separate toilet and sink in the hall.

Excellent location right in the middle of Covent Garden near numerous pubs and cafes and restaurants, and 1 minute walk from the Opera House. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room had great facilities. Tea and coffee and biscuits as well as a good shower etc. The only slight downside was it was a little noisy from people walking past internally. I think this is because it is not a purpose built hotel, but an old house, so it doesn't have so much sound proofing. However, this was only occasional, and there was no noise from outside as you are in a quiet pedestrian cul de sac. The hotel room was very comfortable and I would definitely recommend here for a good hotel in a great location.

The location was fantastic, just 2-3 min walk from Covent garden station. We watched two shows till 10pm at night and were able to walk home easily from the theatres. Also walking distance to Somerset House where we did some ice skating. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and kind to us— esp the young lady manning the desk in the daytime. Although there was no lift, the staff were very helpful to carry our suitcases up and down for us. When we checked in, we left our luggage with them as we were early. When we came back in the evening, the luggage had already been brought to our room without us asking. Appreciated that greatly.

Situated in a quiet pedestrian street Fielding Hotel is the perfect location to explore the Covent Garden and Theatre area. Our room was on two levels, a small staircase lead down to a lounge and the shower room, it was different and worked really well. Bed very comfortable and shower room facilities very good. The staff were lovely, helpful, polite, always smiling. They made us feel really welcome. Although the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant there are many options for breakfast and dinner within a few minutes walk. We thought it good value for money. When we plan our next trip to London we will definitely stay at the Fielding Hotel.
